Palm T/X won't run
Submitted by airassault552 on 22 June, 2008 - 04:16.
Get this thing to run? I have a T/X that I have have loaded all the files on. When I hit Boot
I get the following:
885....Palm TX
Loading /zImage... 1309808 b OK
Loading /initrd.gz...147456 b OK
Returned: c01d
Command Line:
init=/linuxrc root=/dev/ram0
mem=32M
and then nothing happens. I have everything loaded on a clean 2GB card. I am new to all of this and not a programmer but I really want to try this on my T/X. How do I fix this?
Any help would be appreciated.
Update: I figured it out and it is running. Now I just need to get some apps.

Can you please tell us, what was wrong? Maybe it can help others in future... You can get some additional apps by using package manager...
What was wrong is that I am
What was wrong is that I am new to this and take things too literal. I didn't pull the files out of the folder when I unzipped, I just dropped the whole thing on the card.
Now is when I need the real help. I am trying to configure it for openmoko. I have the rootfs file, but the blog I was learning from says that I have to do these 2 steps next:
1. # Edit /etc/Xserver to adjust the DPI settings and add:
"Palm TX")
ARGS="$ARGS -dpi 150 -screen 320x480 -hide-cursor -root-ppm /usr/share/pixmaps/xsplash.ppm" ;;
2.# Generate a swap file: dd if=/dev/zero of=swap.fs bs=1024 count=65536 and copy it to the /linux directory on your card.
I have absolutley no idea how to do this, could someone help me please?
Sorry I don't know much about this, but I have been playing Army for the last 12 years and have never used Linux before. I am trying to learn now.
I did learn something interesting though. Mine was slow loading so I used Warpspeed and cranked up the cocoboot some. It loads much faster now. I tested it to see how far I could go and it froze if I took it over 600.

I decided not to put
I decided not to put Openmoko on my T/x due to lack of function, especially the Wi-Fi support. I did find a skin set based on Openmoko for the T/X that skins out your Palm OS to look like it. It is located here.

I used the beta version of Palmrevolt to load it. It looks pretty good.
