Palm T|X resets on boot
Submitted by err0r on 4 July, 2008 - 08:47.
Hello.
I've tried the current archives from miska's page. And my palm tx reseted always I pressed the boot button in the cocoboot. I have also checked it after hard reset, but result was the same. And if you were rather quick, you would able to see that it wrote zImage OK and initrd.gz OK.
By the way, it resets with many other apps, i.e. palmpdf. Could I check if it is a hardware problem or not?
Thank you.

One thing that can help
One thing that can help sometimes is to reinsert memory card after reset. You can also try different version of cocoboot. Current version - you mean "stable" one?
Reinsert didn't help. Ok, I
Reinsert didn't help. Ok, I will try different cocoboot.
The files are from http://atrey.karlin.mff.cuni.cz/~miska/. I used the following:
Palm TX kernel package (320x480) Fri Mar 21 09:54:49 CET 2008 (also tried 324x484),
Opie root (05/05/2008) in ext2, Opie root (05/05/2008) in squashfs-lzma
I have tried cocoboot
I have tried cocoboot versions 0.2-0.4. So it reseted with version 0.2, and it wrote "Returned c01d" with versions 0.3 and 0.4.
Finally I tried garux and it started the kernel, but I had no success with root-fs mounting (kernel panic).
Did you tried Marex's last
Did you tried Marex's last git version (on our mainpage, newest article)? Garux wouldn't work, cause it has kernel and ramdisk inside, so you'll need garux with kernel and ramdisk from my page or adjust it to do something similar. Anyway it need to recompile.
I found what the problem
I found what the problem was...
I'm FreeBSD user and I used pilot-link for Palm communication. Also I have installed Softick Card Export and used it. Both of them often damaged files I sent to Palm.
So, may be you could tell what's the reason for this?
I doesn't have card reader device, so now I'm using rather crazy way :) I configured network between Palm and desktop and setted the HTTP server up on the desktop computer. So, I'm downloading files from this HTTP server using Blazer.
I've already checked it without rootfs. It looked like that cocoboot worked. Rootfs download is in progress now :-)
P.S. Bluetooth and ppp via cable don't damage files.
