Submitted by cyclo0n on 13 July, 2008 - 19:59.
Hello
I use Opie 1.2 now for a while and i was wondering: can i syncronize my device (Palm 72) to a pc working under linux.
so i can extract my datebook and adressbook with something like Kontact.
is there any software available for this? i would like to know.
Great thanks, Cyclo0n

@Miska Yes, there is. Last
@Miska
Yes, there is. Last time I tried it, there were some issues that I had to fiddle with. I don't know what the current state of OpenSync is now, though, so hopefully it will work fine.
Cyclo0n: Please let us know if it works/how you got it working.

Ko/Pi is part of the micro
Ko/Pi is part of the micro version of KDEPIM. You'd have to build it from OpenEmbedded, but it more than likely won't work. The Program works nicely, but isn't quite suited to the Z72's screen size. Also, it syncs by copying files over to your computer with scp (ssh copy), rather than using a syncing program. (http://wiki.openembedded.net/index.php/UsefulTargets#opie-image)
As for Opie-Sync, I'm not sure if there was ever a program by that name, but I believe that's the setting you put your Palm on if you're using the Opie plugin for OpenSync.
Hope that helps,

in Ubuntu, you use the
in Ubuntu, you use the command
sudo apt-get install x
to install packages, where x is the name of the package (it should auto-complete with [tab]). However, may I ask why you're using Ubuntu 6.06? Version 8.04 has been out for a while... (http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/download)
P.S. This may help you (http://monkeyblog.org/ubuntu/installing/) - it helped me when I was learning.
